Rachel Wharton MFA Painting
I paint ambiguous spaces and conceived forms which possess a familial sense, before fracturing and dissipating. Idiosyncratic mark making is combined with elements of the landscape using suggestive edges and line. Through paint I want to resolve an intentional awkwardness that uses paints physicality, with a desire to depict sensitively rendered compositions.
