Natalia Szulc

MA Fine Art

The major focus of my work is space and materiality. The role between my sculptural objects and the space they exist in is a way of pursuing its new interactive connections. Defining space in my sculptures means creating an invisible sculptural form within its visual elements that resemble the mapping of the body. Sharp in organic infinite like forms, my works are an idiosyncratic response to the way I view the world. My practice consists of the influence of everyday life with its nuances and the examination of nature. The therapeutic effect of the making processes lead to a sense of inner peace grasped through meditation and Zen philosophy combined with the making. My preferred media involves the use of discarded, but also new materials exploration such as glass.
