Daniel Hutchings
Daniel Hutchings is a self-proclaimed Auteur who works in film and music. Daniel grew up in the heart of the Midlands and moved to Manchester to study and find places open past midnight. After graduating his BA, he worked 9 to 5 jobs to make his rent money and fund his artistic "presents". These included the "Fairytale Documentary" Bedroom Confidential and two albums, Instant News and Presents Inc, with "The World's First Musical Magazine" Pleasant Express. Handmade copies were given away to friends, family and people he met in the street.
This year, whilst studying MA Filmmaking at Manchester School of Art, Daniel worked as Film Maker on Victoria Wood's "play with songs" That Day We Sang. Daniel also had films screened at several Manchester film nights. These include his Cosy Conditions episodes and his "Repetition Series", including The 4D Experiment and I've Got Time.
Daniel's main MA piece is Society of Progressive Friendship, a portrait of a well-meaning amateur attempting to film a magazine show that "documents acts and gestures of friendship" with a view to having it commissioned into a full 6-part television series.
