Danny Satchell MA Fine Art

A 27 year old painter from Oldham, Greater Manchester. Danny's practice is formulated around the vagaries of memory, thoughts and the human experience generally. Using acrylic paint and canvas I recycle images and photographs, giving them a new translucent narrative. My practice is an explorative one and I see my work more as a meandering walk than a sign posted journey. I tend to think about, consider and work on an image for sometime, often embuing them with memories and stories from my own life, memories that are not always present in the original image. I am not trying to arrive at a set of solid structured sequential artworks, instead I am exploring the fragmented awareness we have of our own mind and past. Essentially I'm using painting, a medium that is based in the physical world, in order to examine and analyzize thoughts and recollections which have more ethereal properties.
