Public transport is commonly used by city dwellers with fast paced lives. This project aims to discover forms of escapism for commuters by considering their habits and limitations. The space is designed in order to provide individual and collective experiences that are unique to the user.
The proposal is located at the area called ‘’Deansgate Locks’’ in Manchester and in addition to rethinking the design of traditional tram stop it occupies mainly the space underneath the railway arches with a series of events and exhibition spaces, evaluating possible integrations of Rochdale Canal. The place and the process has provided an inspiration to investigate the qualities of water and how the matter can act as material.
