Tam Hinton MA Animation
I am a sculptor, film maker and performer. My film making practice is largely concerned with animation, particularly stop-motion, even more particularly with claymation,greatest of all art forms I'm sure you'll agree.
My current project focuses on a radical reimagining of that radical old chestnut, 'dr jekyll and mr hyde'. Henry Jekyll is notoriously two-faced, but I'm using animation and film to examine the other sides of his nature, hinted at in the orginal story- a Queerer, more psychedelic version of this much loved Victorian maniac.
Part one of this cinematic experiment forms the basis of my Master show this year. Part two will be developed this year during my MFA.
I aim to make my work funny, strange and exciting, with a wee bit of subversive politics under the surface.
