Nia Williams MA Design: Graphic Design and Art Direction
Nia is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer who has a history studying in Manchester Metropolitans School of Art, achieving a Fine art Degree in 2014 and returning to study her Master’s Degree in Graphic Design and Art Direction in 2018. Through her work Nia has dedicated her studies to exploring the use of braille within packaging and finding opportunities to use tactile language as design elements. This inclusion of touch type being recognised as design normalises the use of braille within des, making products more inclusive for the general public. Her project places emphasis on creating innovative packaging by using primitive and sustainable processes. By conducting these experiments, she has managed to extend the life cycle of products ensuring less harmful waste for the environment.
