Using traditional methodology, materials and experimentation I aim to challenge the audiences perception of what a photograph is. By exploring the materiality of photography, the audience are asked to reflect upon our relationship with the medium, where process becomes the subject matter.
Living in a society dominated by photography, the work I produce aims to reposition the photograph into its purest form: light upon surface. Through the use of human intervention as oppose to the mechanics of a camera, I hope to address the role of the photographer as an artist, as well as questioning photographys role within a larger Art industry.
