Shahram Farrokhnejad
Sharham Farrokhnejad’s paintings are improvised, using chance, accident and risk-taking to produce works that start from nowhere and end with the unknown. Based on a mark-making practice, Sharham uses a range of unusual painting tools (plungers, squeegees and children’s toys) to develop a series of preliminary marks into strange and fantastical paintings and sculpture. Whilst Sharham’s video work address more philosophical matters, approaching geopolitical and environmental issues through a direct and sometimes-humorous lens.
