Natalija Stolarova
I am an illustrator and printmaker and I am interested in the folklore of different cultures. Particularly, I am interested in history and a darker side of folk narratives and characters and my MA research have developed from my interest area. I have been researching the history of the witch trials and my artwork is responding to the events happened in Pendle in 1612 and in Salem in 1692. As an illustrator, I am interested in running multiple storylines in one piece by embedding symbols and meaning, and alongside the linoleum block prints, I am creating moving image pieces supported by sound, inviting an audience to immerse and feel the story.
