Freya Goodwin

Through the MA I have focused my practice on transforming waste into something tactile and sensory for the audience to experience. I have been working in a more sustainably conscious way, using waste carpet and underlay to create a large-scale installation.

My work raises questions around domestic environments, domestic objects, mundane activities and the effect of subtle trauma through one’s life. To evoke these narratives, I employ a pentimento technique using drawing translated into printmaking. I use a brash colour palette to juxtapose themes of memory and nostalgia.
