My works always attempt to address the sense of ritual in the form of the very traditional object(s). In addition, trying to bring the original and extraordinary rituality back to this contemporary life.
"Lifestyle" is an essential factor that affects product selections. Furthermore, it defines how people live. However, in the quick-fix times, we gradually lose our grip on lifestyle. This convenient digital era makes us take fewer things into consideration when we act. That all because of convenience is slowly taking away the sense of ritual.
“The need for ritual is a basic human instinct, as real, as urgent and as raw as our need for food, shelter, and love. And it is every bit as crucial to our survival.” —Donna Henes
Inspired by the Chinese traditional stationery, The Four Treasures of the Study, which is a ceremony of writing. This work focuses on revealing the cyber-violence which caused by less consideration and responsibility while people writing or posting online. With this in mind, I try to find an interaction to evoke the sense of ritual and engage the user to experience the process of consideration.
