I am an illustrator from Dorset, living in Manchester. I love textures, bright colour and intricate detail. I illustrate digitally but like to replicate traditional physical processes like risograph, printing and pencil drawing within my style. My style has energy and movement, with bright colours and dynamic poses. I am interested in vintage art and culture from the 1960s and 70s, comics and book illustration. My love of illustration originated from my love of reading and my desire to illustrate what I read in my books.

I am very inspired by the process of using illustration to bring life to complicated subjects and stories mostly in books and long text, using drawing as a key to unlock what was previously hard to see or understand. This can be seen in my recent Masters work: my readapation of Lewis Carrol's 'Jabberwocky' into a Dungeons and Dragons/Stranger Things comic and my exhaustive illustrated guide to David Mitchell's 'Cloud Atlas' , where I produced character profiles, a guide and a comic. When we were directed to intepret James Joyce's 'Ulysses', I illustrated a surreal composition of sirens, roses and lone men, to help deconstruct the off-putting conundrum of Joyce's novel. I want my illustration to function as a process into making ideas and themes easier to understand.
