Cristian Llorella Perez
MA Graphic Design and Art Direction
Hello, I'm Cristian, a Canarian artist based in Manchester. Over the years, I've gained valuable experience in creative direction and acquired knowledge and skills through my education. From a young age, I've been passionate about video games, and this interest has evolved into a deep appreciation for Games Art, serving as a constant source of inspiration in my practice.
My design approach is nonconformist, characterized by a penchant for thinking outside the box within project briefs. My work often features gradients and distinct aesthetics, which help me connect with specific audiences. I aim to engage people who appreciate different perspectives on common themes and encourage discussions through my art.
One of my proudest achievements was my involvement in Storehouse Editions for Unit X. Here, I successfully merged my long-standing passion for video games with the context of a Master's program, resulting in the creation of CaKE magazine. This conceptual art magazine paid tribute to one of my all-time favourite games, Portal 2, through creative direction. In conclusion, my journey as an artist is marked by a commitment to pushing creative boundaries and bridging my passion for video games, contemporary movements and art.
