I had tried to be selective about the work I was going to make - but sometimes a choice is made for you and you need to utilize what has changed . As a still life will shrivel and fall, a new beauty will press its form on the page and there will be a kind of continuity . From the triumph of tragedy I have been concerned with the materiality of paint this year , I feel recently I have found a range of colours that have enabled me to express a feeling of what has been, and explore a new way of working . I hope to continue my study and develop a more outward facing presence next year.
