Error_Error! The reinventing of traditional Thai textile with a contemporary digital knitting approach.
The finding of a relationship between the picture language of conventional Thai weave and digital pixel art leads to the creation of Thai-style 8-bit character knitting patterns by experimenting, interrupting and turning the traditional way of producing local Thai fabric upside down.

These eight knitting pieces will lead you through my master’s journey of research and developing 8-bit knitting patterns inspired by traditional Thai textile design. I believe that the ideal type of “Thai” identity shouldn’t force the young Thai generation’s creativity from their own culture.
