Thu Le

Hi, my name is Thu. I am three magpies in a raincoat from Hanoi, Vietnam, where no birds live. As an illustrator, I create settings in which illustrations and narratives are created through collaborative play. As an amateur miniaturist, I create and navigate empty, imaginary architectural landscapes to explore personal loss and a sense of displacement experienced in cultural assimilation. 

Currently, I am interested in working with cultural archives and collections as I believe play, especially collaborative, can be used as an illustrative language to engage public audiences more effectively with materials than the traditional informative display methods. My short MA project ''Season's Greetings'' successfully tested this notion with the Laura Seddon Collection (MMU Special collection https://www.specialcollections.mmu.ac.uk/victoria.php).
