MA Design: Textile Practice

Introducing “off the grid”, immersive experience for the active participant, using gradient colour, light and surface pattern to influence the crowd’s movement. The large panels obstructing an open pathway encourages the individual to focus on their immediate surroundings and reconsider their journey through space. A brightly coloured environment diverting the mind to present state consciousness away from serious concerns, to reduce stress and anxiety. Responding to the influence of architectural buildings through laser-cut lines to create tactile surfaces for the audience to engage with. Light forms shadow and highlights the cuts in the paper. The angular installation provides a variety of pathways to walk through and hosts a form of privacy in an open plan gallery.
