Francesca Blakeman
Francesca Blakeman is interested in craft processes, in particular knitting. Her sculptural work began with questioning the hierarchy of art and craft, wanting to combine them both through sculpture. Her work revolves around carefully selected colours, by exploring the potential relationships of both soft and hard materials. Blakeman has chosen to work with wool, rope, wood and wire to create work informed by surroundings, structure and composition to make colourful sculptures that evoke emotions of playfulness.
