Maria Bartelme Glick

I am intrigued by the strength, quality and depth of relationships.  The bonds connecting us are ever-changing and evolving.  Our own individual experiences, situations and emotions shape our perception, interpretation and reactions.  These connections define our relationships and are as varied and unique as the individuals who share them.  My work explores these relationships.

Seeking a means to organise and represent these relationships has revealed the complexity and individuality of each bond. I have come to imagine these bonds as abstract forms consisting of light, colour and pattern.  The fluid nature of relationships is reflected in the shifting properties of the piece.  Each subtle change in position translates into a different unrepeatable image, mirroring the personal connections we all experience.
