MA Graphic Design and Art Direction
My MA study is concerned with the influence of materials on the reading process. Through a conceptual investigation into the ‘textual’ properties of the book, I hope to reveal connections between the perception of the page surface and the instinctive reading of geographical forms.
Becoming concerned with the gradual decline of traditional reading in favour of digital platforms, my work forms a document of potentially lost tactile experiences. Using type and paper as subject matter, I have created alternative views of familiar elements of the book. Through the medium of photography, I hope to elicit a perception of text as a landscape.
