My abiding passion is landscape…I observe, draw, select and then translate.Recording, collecting and interaction with the landscape forms the visual research for my practice.I love traveling and the work that I produce celebrates and carries an essence of my travel experiences and placeness associated with the journey.
I believe ‘Everything is Connected’ and textile tradition knows no boundaries. So through making, I assemble those fragments of experience at different landscape; celebrating the similarities within the differences of culture and bring that notion by arranging the atomized fragments in relation with one another like meandering echoes.Underpinned by narrative, my practice is an amalgamation of drawing and hand embroidery which complement and inform one another.
My interest is in slow and steady approach; created out of dedication and meditative nature of process leading to the constant emergence of new ideas balanced with a rhythmic flow. It's rightly said, ‘Only through investing time and truly looking are details revealed’.I aim to draw the viewers in, inviting them to look closer and notice things that they might otherwise have overlooked. The overlooked, the marginalized, the ordinary have power…Moments of detail transgress propriety; found hidden inside in the sketch and stitch details, these moments hold you as u begin to see…
The possibility of collaborative opportunities and commissions are welcomed.
