Sustainability has always been a recurring aspect in my practice, highlighting the importance of global change in the fashion industry and what impacts it has on the planet. Graduating from the University of Leeds in Textile Design, which touched upon sustainability within the fashion industry has further pushed my interests for creating an eco-friendly renewable design. The MA Fashion: Knitwear course provided me with the opportunity to expand my knowledge and understanding of aspects within sustainable design, including the use of renewable raw materials and natural dyes, allowing the creation of a fully biodegradable garment to be made. The garment itself has been made to disassemble, with interchangeable sleeves, creating a product with the potential to change to suit the wearers mood or style.
