Sparked by a comment "...I wouldn’t have thought you had designed this" a viewer referenced an apparent disparity between my gender and my design aesthetic.
I am interested in the notion that objects exude clues about gender - both in terms of the designer and the function of the object itself.
Do objects have gender? What gender should they have? Why are we giving objects gender in the first place?
Through an exploration of design form, I play with notions of gender difference and the biological, social and cultural factors which impact on design decisions. I hope you will take away a new presence of mind when considering others, their belongings, and their design aspirations.
