I started my MA stating that contemporary editorial design was my main area of interest. I am interested in independent publishing. Zines, magazines and artist books are a key source of inspiration in my practice. I believe that independent publishing is becoming, again after the punk movement, a tool for young creative to produce an alternative to the mainstream.
During my research, I have trained myself to evaluate the different publications, not as a person who likes magazines, but as a professional with a good eye for aesthetics, trends and details. At the moment, critically analyzing the typography or the image position in a publication, for example, comes as a natural thing that I do automatically when observing a magazine.
