Revaluing the Water in Kent River Valley Water cannot be separated from human and biological activity, It is the major agent of landscape change and modification in the Kent catchment area, impacting on the many physical and human cycles and process, within the valley.
Water flow ,and speed, are the key elements which inform a new strategy. In particular, the project focuses on creating and expanding the upland bog system, extending new habitats for specific plants and birds, that capture, store and filter water and absorb carbon. This reflects the role of the upland bog as having the largest impact on the environment, in term of sustainability and adding biocentric value to the location. However, establishment periods are at different time scales to those of human life spans and the management requires an understanding of, how this fragile landscape can grow within anthropocentric expectations.
