"New Start" a creative documentary on migration and relocation highlighting how people can start from scratch in other places or locations different from their homeland. In this documentary, three characters from the same background and culture express their views on what it was like to migrate from Kurdistan to the UK. Despite the fact that there is culture and habit from your homeland, relocation often changes these and creates something new. The three characters are from different generation making each individuals view different.
I'm a MA-Filmmaker, interested in producing a documentary style film, showing scenes based on real lives, as I believe the actual story of any film or documentary is based on the subject itself. The subject influences and leads the director, allowing the director to be utilized more as a transmitter of information instead of controlling and directing the subject. Opposite to the production of entertainment films, in which the directors can twist the story or subject, tell stories about what happen within the real world. And even the most meticulously planned events can never be guaranteed to run as intended. This appeals to me, due to the nature of the subject I will be investigating and researching.
