Landscape painting is based on the field, the window, the moon, the hill, the clouds, the tree and the sea. A veritable language developed through the way I chose to perceive things. Seeing a sublime view of a landscape offers me an aesthetic awe which the camera could not do, as our eyes are far more sensitive than the camera lens receiving the light.
I used my memory and imagination to depict an atmosphere which photographs could not do. I emphasize the day and night in my painting. Sometimes, I take a photo to remind me of the day and event. However, most photos came out vague as the lighting did not perceive as well as our eyes. Creating from my memory in the painting interested me a lot. I like the challenge of the day and night; something that we could not actually use a machine for recording but it is in my mind. The creative energy exists like a powerful wave until the painting was finished to my satisfaction.
I am interested in the weather and seasonal within me. I am part of it; spinning around by the wind as the petal and the tree, the leaves and rubbish bin bags flying in front of me and lighting evokes the atmosphere and a sense of mystery. The medium became a challenge: how to depict the texture in each different element of form. Color palette takes on an important essence, it described the scenery of the atmosphere. Color describes the atmosphere, form tell the story which I drive my imaginative into my work.
