Lois Perry
My Name is Lois Perry and I am an all round filmmaker. I am primarily interested in documentary film and I thrive on connecting with people from all walks of life, managing to access an in depth understanding of their existence. The content of my projects is normally based in and around the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) field. I am a lesbian myself and feel with my inside perspective and knowledge I can shed light on areas other filmmakers may not reach. I endeavor to not only create more work in my current field but to also develop a diverse catalog of different projects including dramas.
My project 'The Birth of Paula' examines the life of Dave, family man, husband and breadwinner. We experience how the family has developed through the years and how one day changes the rest of their lives. It is a heart-warming film that will make you question what makes a perfect relationship.
'Out in the City' is a short I created as a part of a pitch for a larger project. I feel there is a gap in the market for this fascinating film. We explore the lives of a group of OAP's (old aged pensioners) who fit under the LGBT umbrella. We hear extraordinary stories dating from the 1930's to the present day. This film is steeped in history and will certainly captivate most audiences.
