José Jurado
I am a visual artist interested in mechanisms and laboratories of ideas, in which spectators must negotiate their position within the artwork, actively participating in processes of thought and reflection. I am interested in highlighting lived experiences in real contexts, drawing upon collaborative practices and interaction with the individuals who dwell in a specific territory and construct it through their gaze. I work with conceptual research processes that challenge the concept of the artist's authorship and that reach a high level of social commitment, creating a mosaic of local daily reality.
From the relation with the environment comes the desire to improve and transform it. There is another field of critical and conceptual work which I am interested in, namely the traces and remains of social events.
